Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our manufacturing facility. This position is a training program offered to those that have little to no experience in the manufacturing industry. The right candidates must have an interest in learning how to operate machinery and will go through a 6 month training where they will learn how to read blueprints, measure parts, set up the machine, and run the machine. Duties
- Review Job Operation listings for any special instructions.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Set-Up - Selects cutting tools by studying and validating dimensions and tolerances of parts.
- Selects cutting speeds and feed rates.
- Sets feed mechanism by installing collets, bushings, and setting controls. Loads feed mechanism by lifting bar stock into position.
- Controls bar feed function and tool movement by installing and adjusting cams, gears, and stops; setting controls.
- Positions tool by adjusting tool holder.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample part pieces.
- Run production parts per Job Operation Listing quantity.
- Maintains specifications by observing operations; detecting malfunctions; adjusting controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools.
- Operate Grinding machine(s) as necessary.
- Inspection with Calibration measuring devices- calipers or other inspection tools.
- Follow established procedures and keep necessary records to maintain compliance.
- Participate in safety training and bi-weekly inspections to ensure area is properly labeled.
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance, optimum utilization and machine safety.
Qualifications
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form.
- Communicating with other employees and work in a team environment.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Ability to work overtime and Saturday as required.
- Ability to speak, read and write English.
- Ability to speak and understand Spanish is a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- The employee needs to stand for 8-10 hours a day.
- Be able to use both arms and fingers and extend hands.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to oil for machines.
- The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
- Employee must frequently lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Hours are 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM Monday through Friday plus overtime
