EXPERIENCED COMMERCIAL ELECTRICIAN

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Commercial Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electrical systems within commercial and industrial environments. Your expertise will ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards and local electrical codes, including NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association standards) and NEC (National Electrical Code). This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects such as renovations, new constructions, and industrial electrical system upgrades, contributing to the safety and efficiency of our clients’ facilities.

Duties

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial electrical systems, including high-voltage wiring and low-voltage circuits.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring and system layouts.
• Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters to identify faults or system inefficiencies.
• Conduct high-voltage electrical wiring installations safely following all NFPA 70 compliance guidelines and local electrical codes.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete wiring projects efficiently on construction sites or renovation projects.
• Ensure all work adheres to electrical safety procedures, including proper grounding, circuit protection, and lockout/tagout protocols.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other tradespeople to ensure timely project completion while maintaining quality standards.
• Read electrical blueprints and schematics accurately to facilitate precise installation of commercial electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical systems using diagnostic techniques to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections completed, and parts used for compliance and future reference.

Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of verifiable electrical experience, with extensive commercial electrical experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in working with high-voltage electrical wiring and low-voltage control systems within commercial settings.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards and local electrical codes is essential.
• Hands-on experience reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for various electrical projects.
• Skilled in troubleshooting electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and circuit testers.
• Construction site experience with renovation projects or new builds is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematic reading, power tools operation, frame carpentry skills are a plus.
• Ability to work safely following all electrical safety procedures while managing multiple tasks in fast-paced environments.
• Must be able to travel throughout the state of Mississippi (overnight stays when applicable).
• Must be able to pass a Federal Background Check.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
