Job Description
We are seeking an experienced lead electrician with strong underground construction experience. This is a hands-on role that combines underground electrical installation work with technical service and troubleshooting. This position requires someone who is reliable, self-directed, and able to make sound decisions in the field without constant oversight. You will represent Electrical Works on job sites and in customer-facing service work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform underground electrical installations including conduit, wire pulls, trenching, backfill, equipment setting, and site restoration
- Work with electrical helpers/superintendents/PMs to complete underground construction projects safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical plans, and project specifications
- Perform field layout using levels, lasers, and measuring equipment
- Operate or work safely around heavy equipment such as excavators and skid steers
- Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, utility companies, and other trades
- Plan materials, equipment, and daily field activities to keep projects moving
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems independently in the field
- Perform service and maintenance on completed installations independently
- Respond to service calls and participate in on-call as needed
- Maintain accurate job documentation and communicate progress clearly
Requirements:
- Valid Arizona Journeyman Electrician License preferred (California General Electrician license also considered)
- Strong underground electrical construction experience in commercial, industrial, or utility environments
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and service electrical systems independently
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision and make safe, sound field decisions
- Strong communication skills with customers, inspectors, project managers, and coworkers
- Solid understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) and local electrical codes
- Valid driver’s license

Physical Demands:
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs with or without assistance
- Work 8–12 hour days on active construction sites (indoors and outdoors)
- Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and working in confined spaces
- Manual installation of conduit, wiring, and electrical equipment
- Safe use of hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
- Work while wearing required PPE at all times
Work Environment:
- Work in all weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and rain
- Exposure to construction sites, noise, dust, and heavy equipment
- Work around energized systems and active job sites
- Must be able to respond to changing field conditions and hazards
Schedule:
- Monday–Friday with overtime and after-hours work as required
- On-call for service and emergency work
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
