Senior Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions leads the evaluation and execution of Vertiv’s inorganic growth strategy, partnering with senior leaders to assess opportunities, shape deal strategy, and drive successful transactions. This role manages complex deal activity end-to-end and delivers outcomes that impact business performance.

Senior Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions leads the evaluation and execution of Vertiv’s inorganic growth strategy, partnering with senior leaders to assess opportunities, shape deal strategy, and drive successful transactions. This role manages complex deal activity end-to-end and delivers outcomes that impact business performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Opportunity Evaluation
- Lead development of investment theses for acquisitions, divestitures, and partnerships aligned to business strategy
- Own complex valuation analyses (DCF, comparables, scenario modeling) and assess strategic fit, risks, and value creation opportunities
- Partner with senior business leaders to shape financial forecasts, synergy assumptions, and deal rationale
- Present recommendations and insights to senior leadership, influencing decision-making on transaction priorities
- Lead cross-functional due diligence efforts, coordinating internal stakeholders and external advisors across multiple workstreams
- Direct financial diligence, identifying key risks, validating assumptions, and refining valuation models
- Drive issue identification, risk mitigation strategies, and integration considerations during deal execution
- Support negotiation strategy with fact-based insights and financial analytics to optimize deal outcomes
- Manage multiple concurrent transactions, ensuring alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables
- Influence senior stakeholders across Finance, Strategy, Legal, and Business Units to drive decisions and resolve issues
- Establish governance, reporting cadence, and executive updates for active deals
- Mentor and guide junior team members and analysts supporting transaction work
- Partner with integration teams to ensure continuity from diligence to execution of synergy capture plans
- Track and evaluate post-close performance against deal assumptions and value creation targets
- Identify lessons learned to inform future transaction strategy
- Advanced Financial & Strategic Acumen: Ability to translate complex analyses into clear business insights and recommendations
- Enterprise Influence: Proven ability to influence stakeholders across functions and seniority levels
- Leadership & Team Development: Experience leading or mentoring team members on complex workstreams
- Decision-Making in Ambiguity: Navigates moderately complex, high-impact decisions with incomplete information
- Execution Excellence: Drives multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously with strong project governance
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field
- 10 years of relevant experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or consulting
- Demonstrated experience leading M&A transactions or major workstreams end-to-end
- Strong financial modeling and valuation expertise
- MBA or advanced degree
- Experience in industrial manufacturing, critical infrastructure, or related sectors
- Exposure to global / cross-border transactions
