Job Summary:
This is skilled work in the operation of equipment related to pump trucks, roll-off trucks and dump trailers (just Class A) and basic repairs. Work involves responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment used in the loading, hauling and unloading biosolids and any other residuals from the water and wastewater treatment plants U.S. Water operates. Supervision is received from a technical or an administrative supervisor with the employee demonstrating independence at the work site in the performance of assigned duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (RESPONSIBILITIES)
- Operation pump trucks, roll-off trucks, dump trailers.
- Being capable to move hoses and pumps and other auxiliary equipment required to perform duties Weights between 50 pounds and 100 pounds
- Basic maintenance and repairs to all equipment
- Flexible schedule
- Flexibility to work out of town for few days at a time
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of the operating requirements of equipment
- Knowledge of applicable safety measures and precautions to operate the equipment
- Knowledge of traffic laws, ordinances and rules involved in equipment operation
- Some knowledge of the maintenance requirements of the equipment to which assigned
- Ability to learn to operate all assigned equipment in a skilled manner, safely and according to applicable laws and regulations
- Ability to detect needed repairs and to make necessary adjustments. Ability to maintain daily records
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and customers
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Possession of a valid driver's license when operating a vehicle is necessary to the satisfactory performance of assigned duties.
