Responsibilities
As our Security Estimator, you’ll be responsible for:
Preparing detailed cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated proposals
Performing quantity surveys of security system components based on project plans
Reviewing and outlining project specifications for access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and related systems
Soliciting and coordinating pricing from vendors and subcontractors
Distributing plans and specifications to relevant stakeholders
Building collaborative relationships with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients
Summarizing material and labor costs for vendor quotes
Integrating project schedules and logistics into accurate estimates
Assisting operations staff with system analysis, staging, phasing, and coordination plans
Participating in bid day summaries, procurement presentations, and general requirements coordination
Collaborating with field and operations teams to identify cost-effective construction methods
Delivering professional, comprehensive estimate packages at each major project milestone
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete work accurately and on time
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Confidence in conducting effective presentations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
Familiarity with field operations and construction logistics
Knowledge of security system trades and scopes of work
A collaborative mindset and ability to build relationships across teams
