Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power delivery engineering consultant firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, program management, project controls, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S.
ECI has an immediate opening for an entry to advanced level project controls specialist. The Project Controls Specialist supports engineering, procurement, and construction activities through planning, scheduling, and budget management for utility and renewable energy projects. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining resource‑loaded Primavera schedules; managing budgets in the company ERP system; performing earned value and variance analysis; preparing project and program‑level status reports; and supporting corrective action development with project management. Project Controls personnel work within ECI's environment as well as client systems. Additional tasks may include KPI tracking, proposal support, and contributing to process, tool, reporting, and training improvements. The role requires initiative, adaptability, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fluid environment.
Minimum Requirements: Applicants with associate or bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study will be considered . Preferred candidates offer 2 years in project controls, project coordination, construction management, or related analytical roles. Other candidates will be considered if experience is transferable. The successful applicant must have familiarity with scheduling concepts and cost tracking; experience with Excel and basic data analysis; an ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, fluid project environment; strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment. Applicants that have proficiency with Primavera P6, including resource loading, baselining, and progressing schedules; experience with ERP systems for budget management and cost tracking; strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to interpret complex project date and perform earned value analysis, variance reporting and root cause analysis are preferred.
