What are the responsibilities and job description for the Container Printing Press Operator position at Electrical Automation Services Inc?
We are seeking a dependable Press Operator to join our stable, long-established production team. This role is responsible for safely operating lithographic decorating equipment, maintaining print quality, and supporting production changeovers.
The ideal candidate will have can decorating experience, although it is not required. Experience with lithographic printing, aluminum sheets, or similar decorating processes is also highly valued.
This is a full-time opportunity offering long-term stability within an experienced production team.
Schedule
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 12-hour shifts on an alternating weekly schedule
- Weekend availability is required
- Shifts may be traded with similarly trained teammates as needed
- Overtime after 40 hours
- Double time after 48 hours
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain lithographic decorating equipment
- Perform production changeovers, including changing plates, inks, and materials
- Monitor production to maintain consistent print quality
- Perform quality inspections and identify printing or material issues
- Troubleshoot press and print-quality problems and make necessary adjustments
- Work with production and quality teams to contain rejected or questionable products
- Document equipment faults, production issues, and work performed
- Ensure necessary production materials and supplies are available
- Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, waste, and downtime
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements
- Communicate equipment and production concerns with teammates and management
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Previous press operation or lithographic printing experience preferred
- Can decorating experience is highly preferred
- Experience working with aluminum sheets or similar printing/decorating processes is a plus
- Experience with press setup, plate changes, inks, and production changeovers preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, weekends, and the required rotating schedule
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with the team
