What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Manager position at Electric RAYS Tanning & Spa?
Pay: $36,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
Job description:
Hiring a driven Store Manager to lead a standout team and grow with Electric RAYS as we expand into new locations and markets across the Pacific Northwest.
POSITION SUMMARY
As Store Manager, you will lead one Electric RAYS studio to grow memberships, develop your team, and deliver a client experience that brings people back as not just returning customers, but raving fans.
The work is hands-on. You will sell, coach, build schedules, resolve client concerns, and keep the studio clean and ready for business. The challenge is getting consistent results through your team while staying on top of the details.
We are looking for someone who notices what needs attention, takes action, and communicates early. You should be comfortable making decisions within company standards and bringing leadership a clear recommendation when you need support.
ABOUT ELECTRIC RAYS TANNING
We are building the #1 sun spa brand in the PNW by developing our people into owners and scaling to 30 locations. It’s our mission to create an elevated client experience in our sun spas by developing leaders through growth and positivity. Our core values are the backbone of our business and guide our hiring process: we are motivated, results driven, team oriented, coachable, committed, and value communication. We're a Sun Spa and wellness studio brand with multiple locations across Idaho, including Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, Lewiston, Moscow, and the Boise/Eagle/Meridian area, helping clients look and feel their best through UV tanning, spray tans, infrared and halo saunas, red light therapy, hydromassage, cold plunge, and skincare services.
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
- Drive sales of memberships, upgrades, products, and services. Coach the team to understand client needs, explain options clearly, and follow through.
- Review sales and retention performance, identify gaps, and put a specific plan in place. Execute approved promotions and local outreach.
- Help recruit and select staff, lead onboarding, and improve performance through regular coaching, role-play, and direct feedback.
- Build schedules within the labor budget, organize coverage, and raise staffing gaps before they disrupt service.
- Resolve client concerns within your authority. Follow membership, billing, and cancellation procedures, with accurate documentation and timely escalation.
- Maintain opening, closing, cash handling, inventory, timecard, and cleaning standards. Complete product counts and orders.
- Reinforce service screening, protective eyewear, exposure schedules, sanitation, and accurate service information. Report equipment issues and stop use when required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience leading a team in a sales or customer-facing business. Strong assistant managers ready to step up are encouraged to apply.
- Evidence that you can improve sales and help others improve. Retail, fitness, hospitality, salon, or membership-based experience transfers well; tanning experience is a plus.
- Clear communication with both your team and leadership. You address issues directly and close the loop.
- Reliable follow-through, sound judgment, and comfort using sales reports, scheduling tools, and client records.
- Receptive to feedback and willing to do the daily work alongside your team.
RESULTS
- The studio meets agreed revenue, membership, and retention goals, with action plans when performance falls short.
- Team members understand their targets, receive regular coaching, and improve their ability to serve clients and sell.
- Shifts have a coverage plan, records are accurate, and cleaning and safety standards are followed consistently.
- Leadership knows where the studio stands, what needs attention, and what you are doing about it.
SCHEDULE
- Full-time, on-site in Meridian, Idaho.
- At least five shifts per week, with availability for opening, closing, and weekend shifts.
- Weekly hours, shift rotation, and urgent-issue response expectations will be discussed during hiring.
- The role involves extended standing and movement, cleaning, and occasional lifting of product inventory, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- $36,000–$52,000 annual base salary, based on relevant experience, skills, and scope of responsibility. This range excludes incentives and benefits.
- Earn more as you grow sales. Receive 10% commission on eligible sales, in addition to your base salary, with potential earnings of $200 - $2,000 per month under the commission plan.
- $750 monthly bonus opportunity, separate from commission and subject to performance requirements.
- Health insurance, paid time off, and employee discounts, subject to eligibility and plan terms.
- Ongoing sales and leadership development.
GROWTH TRACK POTENTIAL
- Build toward an Operator role with greater responsibility.
- Qualify for consideration through sustained sales results, team development, and reliable studio operations.
- An Operator role offers the opportunity to earn 10% of studio net profit under a separate agreement.
- Advancement depends on your readiness and business needs.
