Responsibilities
How you can make an impact :
- Perform power system impact studies: Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability.
- Perform NERC-compliance-related technical analyses such as TPL Annual Planning Assessments.
- Perform full generator interconnection studies which may also include Sub-Synchronous Resonance (SSR) studies.
- Ensure that renewable and/or storage resource projects interconnecting to the transmission system meet Voltage Ride-Through (VRT) requirements.
- Prepare technical study reports for all studies performed. Process, generate, and maintain data as required for all studies.
- Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.
- Identify training needs and present to the Engineering Manager as needed.
Bring your passion, here what’s needed:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, emphasis in Power Systems preferred.
- 2 years of experience as a power systems engineer
- Experience performing power system impact studies such as Dynamic Stability, Steady State, and Short Circuit.
- Experience with power systems software such as PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA.
- Ability to provide on the job training or help oversee the work of other Power Systems Engineers and Interns.
- Experience automating/programming in Python preferred.
- Experience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation
- Proven team player with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks.
- Flexible with the ability to manage change.
- Have high standards in producing quality reports and products that he/she shall own with pride.
- Strong technical report writing skills.
