Growth goes beyond just metrics and upward trends—it's about a mindset of continuous improvement, resilience in the face of setbacks, an eagerness to learn and evolve, and a passion for tackling new challenges head-on.
Electric Orange Creative is a growing boutique digital agency located in Brooklyn, NY, and currently working hybrid out of our Greenpoint loft office. We are one of a dozen Shopify official marketing partners worldwide.
We are seeking a sharp, digitally savvy project manager to help manage daily client communications and SEO/GEO responsibilities. Basic experience with SEO/GEO and digital marketing using Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Shopify, Moz, SEMrush, etc. required. Previous client management experience is also required, and candidates should have exceptional interpersonal skills and exceed at multitasking and organizing work around deadlines.
Responsibilities To Include:
Strategy & GEO/AI Leadership- Own the SEO and GEO vision and strategic direction across your client portfolio, ensuring EO's work drives measurable impact across both traditional and AI-driven search surfaces
- Lead GEO strategy for assigned accounts — including entity optimization, structured content for LLM citation, E-E-A-T signal development, and AI-surface visibility tracking across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, and AI Overviews
- Monitor AI search landscape shifts (algorithm updates, LLM behavior changes, surface expansions) and translate emerging trends into updated EO GEO methodologies and scalable client recommendations
- Partner with clients to architect content and site structures that maximize probability of citation and inclusion in AI-generated answers — not just traditional SERP rankings
- Define and own the GEO measurement framework for your accounts: AI mention tracking, citation share, brand sentiment in LLM outputs, and visibility trend reporting via tools such as Semrush AI, Profound, and others
- Stay ahead of traditional search and AI-surface platform changes, continuously refining EO's approach to both channels
- Lead weekly and/or biweekly client calls across assigned accounts, providing SEO and GEO performance updates, strategic recommendations, and clear next steps
- Own client communication across assigned accounts — timely and professional responses via Email, Slack, and Basecamp — coordinating with internal team members to provide accurate answers and next steps
- Lead high-level client strategy, executive-facing communications, and complex stakeholder management for priority accounts
- Maintain strong awareness of client health and retention risk signals, proactively flagging concerns to leadership and escalating strategically when additional support is needed
- Set and manage reporting standards across accounts, ensuring weekly, monthly, and quarterly deliverables are accurate, on time, and insight-driven
- Own AI visibility reporting as a standing deliverable for assigned accounts — surfacing brand citation trends, competitor share-of-voice in LLM outputs, and actionable GEO recommendations
- Ensure performance reporting is not just accurate but strategically actionable — elevating insights into clear narratives, risks, and growth opportunities across both organic and AI search
- Direct roadmap planning and prioritization across accounts, partnering with project management leadership to align scope, resourcing, and timelines
- Own internal workflow and delivery operations for your clients by delegating work strategically, tracking progress across workstreams, and ensuring all scoped deliverables are reviewed and delivered on time
- Proactively identify risks (bandwidth, dependencies, blockers) and rebalance workloads as needed to maintain timelines and quality
- Own final QA and delivery quality across your portfolio, ensuring recommendations, reporting, and strategy meet EO standards before client delivery
- Step in to execute or complete high-impact deliverables when needed — executive-ready strategy, technical audits/migration support, GEO content architecture, priority escalation reporting — particularly for priority accounts or resourcing gaps
- Lead and grow a team of SEO and GEO experts by setting expectations, shaping development paths, and owning the workflows that enable individuals and the team to succeed
- Manage and develop team members through regular 1:1s, coaching, and performance feedback, supporting growth plans and improving client-ready execution
- Identify recurring skill gaps — including in GEO and AI search methodology — and lead targeted training (workshops, documentation, feedback loops) to improve team execution and consistency
- Develop and maintain internal SOPs, templates, and training materials for both SEO and GEO, driving educational initiatives to support internal processes and improve consistency across the team
- Lead client communication strategy and ensure team members are equipped to run effective meetings and follow-through workflows
- Partner strategically with Paid team members on joint accounts, aligning SEO/GEO priorities and translating cross-channel learnings into cohesive search and shopping strategies
- Support new business efforts for SEO/GEO by contributing to audits, scoping, and strategic recommendations — including AI visibility assessments — for prospective clients
- 5–7 years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably in an agency or multi-client environment
- Demonstrated GEO experience: working knowledge of how LLMs surface and cite content, and a track record of applying that knowledge to real client strategy
- Proven experience leading SEO/GEO strategy across a portfolio of clients, including setting reporting standards, overseeing complex technical initiatives, and driving content strategy direction
- Familiarity with AI visibility tooling (e.g., Semrush AI Toolkit, Profound, Otterly, BrightEdge Generative Parser, or equivalent) and ability to extract actionable insights from AI mention data
- Experience managing delivery workflows for a client portfolio, including delegating work, ensuring QA/review, and driving on-time delivery
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, analytics, or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience
Core Requirements
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to independently lead a portfolio of client accounts while keeping internal teams and PM leadership tightly aligned
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with a proven ability to delegate strategically, manage delivery workflows, and ensure scoped work is reviewed and delivered on time
- Confident client-facing leader who can manage complex stakeholder dynamics, drive executive-ready narratives, and maintain a high bar for responsiveness across Email, Slack, and Basecamp
- Deep understanding of technical SEO fundamentals and advanced fluency in GEO and AI-driven search — this is a core requirement, not a bonus
- Ability to build and communicate a GEO point of view: you understand how LLMs select and cite content, and you can translate that into practical recommendations for clients
- Strong people leadership skills, including training, feedback, and developing team members into consistently client-ready operators
- Advanced copywriting and editing skills with the ability to shape messaging, structure content, and optimize for both users, crawlers, and LLM retrieval
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, collaborative agency environment and cross-functional team structure
Bonus Qualifications
- Proven track record supporting complex site initiatives (migrations, replatforms, IA changes, large-scale redirects)
- Experience building or scaling GEO reporting infrastructure — AI mention tracking, citation share reporting, or custom LLM visibility dashboards
- Experience setting up and validating data tracking and measurement frameworks (GA4, Google Tag Manager, conversion/event tracking, and reporting dashboards)
- Experience partnering closely with developers and technical teams to drive effective implementation
- Experience collaborating with Paid teams and platforms (Google Ads, Meta, programmatic) to align strategy and share learnings across search surfaces
- Experience supporting new business efforts (audits, scoping, strategy recommendations, pitching)
- Prior experience with task management tools (Asana, Monday, ClickUp, etc.)
