Position Overview
Electra is seeking an experienced and FAA-licensed Airframe and Propulsion (A&P) Mechanic to join the A&P team. The role includes a wide spectrum of fabrication, assembly, test, and maintenance duties; including, but not limited to: prototype and production aircraft; the desire to influence the design of new aircraft products to assure their airworthiness, maintainability, reliability, and manufacturability; to support the aircraft design and certification teams; and to maintain aircraft for sustained airworthiness. This role reports into the Manufacturing and Supply Chain organization and is based in Manassas, VA.

Hourly Pay: Electra's hourly pay range for this position is $35-$45 per hour, paid over time.
Our hourly pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum range for the Company level overall across all locations and projects and do not necessarily reflect the budgeted hourly rate for this specific position. Individual pay is determined by additional factors, including project budgets, job-related skills, experience, relevant education and/or training, role, level, location, and project needs.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions
- Participates in pre-planning briefing to ensure a complete understanding of the project work scope, man-hour availability, and projected completion date.
- Ensure proper job planning so that parts and other resources are available in a timely manner to meet milestones and deadlines.
- Demonstrates proper inspection and repair procedures.
- Performs aircraft structural maintenance, repairs modifications, and in-depth inspections, experience bucking rivets and repairing sheet metal, composite items, etc.
- Performs quality checks, using measurement tools and equipment.
- Troubleshoot systems; disassemble, repair, and reassemble sections and components to maintain full functioning equipment according to Approved Technical Data provided by the customer or engineering.
- Performs line maintenance duties, activities and maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Other Duties as assigned.
- FAA-issued A&P license.
- 6 years with a high school diploma and experience in general aviation aircraft
- A strong work ethic experienced in prototype (experimental) and production (certified) aircraft maintenance and repair with engineering guidance
- Experienced with control of non-conforming processes and materials
- Experienced with a variety structural materials including carbon fiber, kevlar, fiberglass, foam, balsa, mylar, aluminum, Ti, etc.
- Inspection Authorization (IA) strongly preferred.
- Prepreg and wet-layup composites molding and vacuum-bagging experience desired. Aluminum airframe fabrication and assembly experience desired
- Electrical wiring, testing, etc. experience
- HV experience
- Aircraft rigging experience required. Forklift experience preferred.
- Familiar with Part 5 SMS and Part 21/AS9100D QMS requirements
- Able to influence the content of AMMs
- Must be able to lift at least 25lb
- Occasional short term deployments to support customers
- Other duties as assigned
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs)
- Licensed Pilot Preferred (FAA, EASA, PPL, CPL, etc.)
- US Person (Citizen or Green Card) Preferred
