Minimum Requirements And Qualification
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be capable of passing a drug screen and background check

Summary Description Of Position
This position exists to perform a variety of shipping and receiving tasks.
- Verifies materials received are as ordered and routes incoming items to appropriate departments/locations.
- Prepares items for shipment ensuring cost effective courier services.
- Screens/x-rays incoming correspondence, mail and packages using a government supplied screening machine.
- Loads/Unloads freight and packages; sorts all mail and correspondence; maintains inventory control program; and operates the branch Post Office on-Center.
- Performs semiskilled and skilled duties in other trades areas.
- Completes work as assigned or required of the contract.
Physical Requirements And Environmental Conditions
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Work will require the regular utilization of hand and finger dexterity, as well as close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to walking, standing, climbing, bending, reaching, turning, kneeling, crouching, or crawling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that, due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. Must be able to lift, move, and transport items frequently over 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds.
Work is generally conducted in an inside environment, but may also involve some outside work, depending on the task. The inside environment may be in a warehouse setting or an office or cubicle with close quarters, with low to moderate noise, and bright or dim lighting. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot and cold climates. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
