Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Hardware Associate to join our retail team. This role involves assisting customers with their hardware needs, managing stock, and ensuring an engaging shopping experience. Previous supervising experience and familiarity with grocery store operations are advantageous. The Hardware Associate will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment while promoting sales through upselling and excellent communication.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting hardware products and provide knowledgeable product demos
- Operate POS systems accurately for sales transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties
- Maintain proper merchandising and stock levels on the sales floor
- Upsell complementary products to enhance customer satisfaction and store revenue
- Ensure the sales area is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries with professionalism and courtesy
- Support inventory management through stocking and merchandising activities
- Demonstrate effective phone etiquette when handling customer calls or inquiries
- Supervise or assist in supervising team members when necessary, fostering a collaborative environment
- Engage customers with strong communication skills to promote products and services
Qualifications
- Prior retail sales experience, preferably in hardware or grocery store environments
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering, and basic retail math skills
- Experience in product demos, upselling, and merchandising techniques
- Strong customer service skills with excellent phone etiquette
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
