Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven National Account Manager to take ownership of an assigned large customer accounts while also actively growing those relationships and developing new large business prospects. This role requires a proactive, fast-responding professional who can manage existing client needs, identify new opportunities, and build strong, lasting partnerships.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, multi-tasker, and a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans, preparing timely and accurate quotes, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. In addition to maintaining compliance with all environmental, health, and safety standards, you will collaborate closely with Technical Services, Sales, and Operations departments and play a key role in forecasting, reporting, and driving overall business growth. Position will require days at our West Chester, PA location, travel will be required, with minimal overnights expected.
Duties
- Ensure the safety of the work completed by adhering to the environmental, health & safety policies and procedures and identify any potentially unsafe conditions or procedures to the Sales Manager
- Maintain a forward proactive, cooperative relationship with all departments, clients, and vendors.
- Attain the annual sales goal assigned individually by utilizing all resources available.
- Responsible for providing account management of Medium & Large sized customers.
- Responsible for developing and implementing a sales strategy/plan for major accounts.
- Continually work on expanding sales and new services with existing clients.
- Responsible for communicating client’s needs with Sales and Operations to assure the highest quality and efficient service for our customers.
- Responsible for working with qualified leads/prospects and developing those into new customers and new lines of business. Continually working to expand sales and new services with our new customers.
- Responsible for identifying market trends and future sales opportunities and work with Sales Manager & Operations Team to identify if we can handle future customer needs.
- Prepare timely proposals/contracts with detailed scope of work and create presentations/ reports for customers. Work with Technical Services Department for assistance as needed.
- Remain within pricing structures and margins issued by management unless specifically authorized. Suggest alternative pricing/methods based on market conditions, etc.
- Responsible for following all required sales documentation including creating proposal, updating proposal log and customer folders, creating schedule request, costs calculation sheets, filing purchase order, signed proposal, credit application/approval, etc.
- Responsible for Aged Invoice Management including reviewing aged invoice report on a routine basis and following up with customer to ensure timely payment and work on issues that are causing any payment delays beyond established payment terms.
- Maintain safety and regulatory training.
- Responsible for working with Sales Manager for creating monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts and opportunity pipeline.
- Additional Responsibility as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 7 years of experience in Environmental Sales, Account Management, or related industrial/hazardous waste industry sales; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Proven expertise in negotiation, business development, and B2B sales within the industrial or hazardous waste industry
- Strong account management skills with a focus on building and maintaining long-term client relationships
- Demonstrated ability to identify growth opportunities through sales analysis, market research, and strategic planning
- Experience supporting sales objectives through targeted marketing strategies in a competitive environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to conduct warm calling and quickly establish rapport with prospective clients
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical solutions
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data to support decision-making and strategy refinement
- Strong listening skills with initiative and consistent follow-through on pending issues.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated leadership qualities that foster collaboration and drive results
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations
- Ability to accurately enter and manage data within departmental accuracy standards.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Must have Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds frequently
Compensation & Location
- Total compensation range: $95,000 – $200,000 annually (base salary plus commission)
- Open to qualified candidates located in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, and Virginia
- Travel required; minimal overnight stays expected
