We are currently seeking a Recreational Therapist to provide treatment services and recreation activities to individuals using a variety of techniques in order to improve or maintain physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual functioning in order to facilitate full participation in life.

We are currently seeking a Recreational Therapist to provide treatment services and recreation activities to individuals using a variety of techniques in order to improve or maintain physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual functioning in order to facilitate full participation in life.
Responsibilities
Day-to-Day tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Complete a comprehensive assessment of each child, and determine needs areas
- Plan course of treatment to address needs areas by writing individualized goals for the child
- Implement activity-based interventions to work toward accomplishing goals developed by therapist
- Evaluate the current plan quarterly to assess effectiveness of goals and interventions
- Document the process
- Assist nursing staff and other disciplines as needed
- Attend program meetings, such as IEPs, ISPs, appointments etc
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy from an accredited institution required
- “CTRS” (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) credentialed preferred
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities
- Experience working in a long term care or hospital setting
- Experience with pediatric population
- Must be 18 years or older
- This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
