What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Driver position at Elder's ACE Hardware?
The Delivery Driver’s primary role will be to transport orders safely and efficiently from Elder’s Ace Hardware stores to customers or other stores. The delivery driver will fulfill orders from Acehardware.com and in-store orders. Deliveries will be scheduled by 6pm for Next-Day Delivery or by 12 noon for Same-Day Delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a daily delivery schedule based on orders placed on Acehardware.com, scheduled by store or requested store transfer.
- Create a daily route to efficiently handle all delivery orders.
- Review orders and ensure accuracy when picking up from the store. Please note any delivery instructions or comments on the order.
- Utilize the Acehardware.com Ordering System (KIBO), the ACENET Delivery & Repair Tool, and the Ace Retailer app to manage deliveries. Finalize all delivery orders after completion.
- Utilize Epicor to manage inventory and maintain transfers.
- Maintain the mechanical and visual appearance of the Delivery vehicle. Complete daily visual checks of the vehicle. Check fluids weekly. Keep the interior and exterior of the vehicle clean. Complete the vehicle maintenance schedule (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.).
- Complete assembly projects through delivery orders, assigned by stores, or product stocked in the Centralized Fulfillment Annex.
- Assist your base store on the sales floor or with store projects, when called upon or as time is available.
- Assist with company projects and events. This could include driving a box truck, assisting with assembly projects, or helping complete other assigned task by Marketing or Operations.
- Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid Driver’s license, good driving record and insurance.
- Must pass a background and driving background check.
- Must wear seat belt while operating the vehicle.
- Must adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, including speed limits and traffic signs. Any traffic violation is the responsibility of the driver.
- Focus attention on driving. Avoid distractions (looking at something other than the road) or manual (taking one or both hands off the steering wheel).
