Position Summary
Elder Corporation is looking for an experienced Field Mechanic – Heavy Equipment to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment in the field
- Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and equipment repairs
- Work on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and related components
- Read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and diagnostic software
- Maintain electronic equipment service records
- Work independently to minimize downtime and keep projects moving
Qualifications
- 3 years of mechanic experience preferred, ideally with CAT and John Deere heavy equipment
- Strong diesel engine and hydraulic diagnostic/repair skills
- Experience using diagnostic software and electronic troubleshooting tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Basic computer and smartphone/iPhone skills
- Willingness to work extended hours during construction season
- Must provide own basic mechanic tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Class A CDL
- Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to work in both shop and outdoor environments
- Comfortable working around heavy equipment and machinery
- Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods
