We are seeking a detail-oriented and meticulous Proofreader to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and correcting written content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, formatting, and style consistency. You will ensure all materials meet the company's standards for accuracy and clarity before publication or distribution.
- Review and proofread various content types, including articles, reports, marketing materials, website copy, and more.
- Identify and correct grammatical, spelling, punctuation, and typographical errors.
- Ensure consistency in tone, style, and formatting across all documents.
- Collaborate with writers, editors, and designers to clarify content issues or inconsistencies.
- Verify facts, dates, and statistics for accuracy where required.
- Maintain brand voice and editorial guidelines across all content.
- Suggest improvements in content structure or readability when necessary.
- Proven experience as a proofreader, editor, or similar role.
- Excellent command of the English language (or relevant language).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to concentrate for long periods.
- Familiarity with style guides (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago, or company-specific guides).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and editing tools like Grammarly or Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field.
- Experience in publishing, marketing, or digital content creation.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices is a plus.
