Job Duties:
- Initiates and assists in the development and implementation of polices and procedures that govern the staff education in colloboration with appropriate services.
- Establishes and maintains records of infections for all residents.
- Ensure staff demonstrate adequate documentation and are following documentation requirements, policy and procedure.
- Services as chair person for committees, i.e. Infection Prevention and Control, antibiotic stewardship, gradual drug reductions, safety and others as designated.
- Participates in the performance improvement functions by collecting and verifying data, as needed. Ensures required nursing audits are completed as needed or requested.
- Consults other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the residents/staff needs.
- Ensures licensed nurses can perform required skills per policy. Ensure annual skills competetencies for licensed staff and CNA's is completed. Provides re-teachng when needed.
- Serves as Employee Health. Maintains immunization records, annual mantoux assessments. Organizes and plans Annual Flu Clinic. Encouraging and supporting staff education on employee health.
