Job Description
The Sr Customer Account Rep is responsible for supporting the Business Development team including the Major Account Managers in all aspects of the sales and order input operation. This role has the potential to transition into a Business Development Manager role if future needs exist and if the successful candidate shows the necessary skills.
Essential Functions/Responsibility: Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Supports the Account Managers to drive continued business and meet customer needs
• Support onsite customer visits
• Assists with analysis of customer requirements
• Point of contact for Account Managers, dealers/distributors/IMRs and other customers for technical and logistical support/inquiries
• Provides or facilitates quotes and responses on Requests for Proposals (RFQ/RFPs) for future business opportunities; assists and/or handles large proposals with little to no supervision.
• Interfaces and coordinates with Engineering, Operations, P&IC, Program Management, Finance, Contracts, etc. to generate quotes/ ROMs, prepare cost and price review material, and gather other information as necessary for responding to customer inquiries
• Assists Account Managers in analysis and presentation of current sales activities forecasts, order status/issues/progress, equipment details and future opportunities
• Requires application of in-depth technical knowledge of products, systems and services
• Keeps up-to-date knowledge of the industry, as well as the competitive posture of the company, and prepares activity and forecast reports as requested. Has thorough knowledge of company products
• Assists with administrative duties, such as export requests, temp loans, shipments, team reports, etc.
• Encourages timely bid and order approvals through regular reviews and Bid Review coordination
• Researches competitive intel and circulates necessary information accordingly
• Mentor and support other customer account reps
• Responsible for managing the BD equipment inventory—tracking equipment, updating inventory when needed and ensuring that consigned equipment is in excellent working order prior to shipping.
Qualifications
Required:
- BA degree with minimum 5 years’ experience and/or equivalent experience in inside sales
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance
- Task-oriented with ability to solve problems of some complexity
- Be a self-starter
- Able to gain basic technical knowledge of the product
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint, and Adobe
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Organized and able to multi-task
- Team player, ability to work with other groups to complete tasks. Essential to work with and coordinate very closely with all business functions to work through daily issues and challenges.
- Willingness/ability to travel (limited)
