Armed Security Officer (Full-Time & Part-Time)

Elara Lounge & Bar – New Orleans, LA

Pay: $20.00/hour

Position Overview

Elara Lounge & Bar is seeking professional, dependable, and confident Armed Security Officers to help provide a safe and welcoming environment for our guests and staff. We are looking for individuals who remain calm under pressure, exercise good judgment, and can professionally handle difficult situations while delivering excellent customer service.

Schedule

Full-Time

• Tuesday – Sunday
• Lounge hours: 4:00 PM – 4:30 AM
• Shifts and hours may vary based on business needs.

Part-Time

• 3 days per week (Tuesday – Sunday)
• Lounge hours: 4:00 PM – 4:30 AM
• Shifts and hours may vary.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and employees.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and interior/exterior areas.
• Verify guest identification and enforce venue policies.
• Conduct bag checks and security screenings when necessary.
• De-escalate conflicts before they become physical.
• Remove disruptive or intoxicated patrons professionally and safely.
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
• Work closely with management and local law enforcement when needed.
• Observe and report suspicious activity.
• Complete incident reports accurately and thoroughly.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor throughout every shift.

Qualifications

• Valid Louisiana Armed Security Officer license.
• Valid firearm permit and all required certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of security, law enforcement, military, or nightclub/bar security experience preferred.
• Candidates with less experience may be considered if they have knowledge of nightlife security operations.
• Ability to stay calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong verbal communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Physically capable of standing for extended periods and responding quickly to incidents.
• Ability to safely control and manage confrontational situations when necessary.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening (if required).

Preferred Skills

• CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
• Experience working in bars, lounges, nightclubs, casinos, or entertainment venues.
• Experience handling large crowds and high-volume events.
• Excellent situational awareness and observation skills.

Unarmed Security Officer (Full-Time & Part-Time)

Position Overview

Elara Lounge & Bar is looking for reliable and professional Unarmed Security Officers to maintain a safe, enjoyable atmosphere for our guests and employees. The ideal candidate has excellent people skills, strong situational awareness, and the ability to professionally handle conflict in a fast-paced nightlife environment.

Part-Time

Responsibilities

• Maintain order throughout the venue.
• Monitor entrances and exits.
• Check IDs and assist with guest entry procedures.
• Patrol the property to identify safety concerns.
• De-escalate conflicts using professionalism and communication.
• Escort disruptive guests from the property when necessary.
• Assist management with crowd control during busy nights and special events.
• Observe and report suspicious activity.
• Respond appropriately during emergencies.
• Write detailed incident reports.
• Provide outstanding customer service while enforcing venue policies.

Qualifications

• Louisiana Unarmed Security Officer license (or ability to obtain one if required).
• At least 1–2 years of security, customer service, hospitality, or nightclub experience preferred.
• Candidates with limited experience should have knowledge of nightclub or bar security operations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Excellent conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically capable of standing, walking, and responding quickly throughout long shifts.
• Reliable transportation.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
