Classroom Support & School AssistantÉlan Vital Montessori | Baton Rouge, LAMonday–Friday | 6:00 AM–1:30 PM$10–$13 per hour (depending on experience)
Élan Vital Montessori is looking for a dependable, hardworking, and caring individual to join our team in a unique support role. This position combines morning housekeeping responsibilities with classroom support throughout the school day.
The ideal candidate enjoys staying busy, takes pride in keeping spaces clean and organized, loves working with children, and is able to manage a structured daily routine independently.
Daily Responsibilities
Morning School Preparation
- Open all campus buildings each morning.
- Prepare classrooms and common areas for the day.
- Clean and sanitize school bathrooms.
- Sweep and mop designated areas.
- Complete morning cleaning tasks before children arrive.
School Support
- Manage and rotate classroom laundry throughout the day.
- Wash dishes and assist with snack and lunch cleanup.
- Complete routine cleaning and organizational tasks to help keep the campus running smoothly.
- Assist the administrative team with daily needs as requested.
Classroom Floater
- Support teachers throughout the day as needed.
- Work one-on-one with children under the guidance of lead teachers.
- Supervise small groups during playground time, bathroom routines, lunch, and snack.
- Assist with simple art activities, classroom projects, and daily routines.
- Provide classroom coverage when teachers are absent or additional support is needed.
Qualifications
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to follow a structured schedule.
- Comfortable balancing housekeeping duties with working around young children.
- Positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever help is needed.
- Able to pass all required background checks.
- Willing to complete required online training and continuing education.
