Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases using POS (Point of Sale) systems for efficient retail sales transactions
- Handle cash handling accurately, including giving change and balancing registers at shift end
- Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure attractive displays and easy customer access
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about new or featured items, encouraging sales and upselling opportunities
- Maintain proper merchandising standards to enhance store appearance and promote featured products
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering product recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Assist with inventory management through stocking, organizing back stock, and participating in regular stock counts
Skills
- Experience using POS systems for retail sales transactions and cash handling procedures
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively and professionally
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs more efficiently
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills in retail or grocery environments is preferred
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques, product demos, and upselling strategies to maximize sales opportunities
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone or in person
- Prior grocery store or retail experience is highly desirable for understanding store operations and customer expectations
