Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and guide them to their tables with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clarity and attention to detail
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation
- Upsell menu items by highlighting specials and recommending pairings to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Manage multiple tables effectively through excellent time management and organization skills
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with food safety regulations, including proper food handling and food preparation practices
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting stations, and supporting kitchen staff when needed to ensure smooth service flow
- Use reservation platforms like OpenTable to manage bookings smoothly and optimize seating arrangements
- Foster positive guest relations by providing attentive service, addressing concerns promptly, and creating a welcoming atmosphere
Experience
- Previous restaurant or food service experience is highly preferred, especially in fine dining or nightclub settings
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS enhances efficiency in order processing
- Strong knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper food handling techniques
- Experience with guest services roles such as host/hostess or serving enhances your ability to connect with guests effectively
- Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality standards
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and sales upselling strategies
- Culinary or kitchen experience is a plus for understanding food preparation processes but not mandatory
