What are the responsibilities and job description for the MD Neurology position at El Retiro Medical Center?
We are seeking a board-certified MD Neurologist to join our dynamic and growing neurology team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in diagnosing and treating a broad spectrum of neurological disorders, including but not limited to stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, migraines, movement disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases. This role involves providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to ongoing clinical excellence and research.
- Conduct comprehensive neurological evaluations, including patient histories and neurological exams.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic neurological conditions.
- Interpret diagnostic tests such as EEGs, MRIs, CT scans, EMGs, and lumbar punctures.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
- Provide inpatient consultations and outpatient follow-ups.
- Collaborate with neurosurgeons, primary care providers, therapists, and other specialists.
- Educate patients and families about neurological conditions and treatment options.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, or teaching (if applicable).
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Stay current with developments in the field through continuing medical education.
