Executive Director Position for Blessing Baskets
Blessing Baskets provides services through our programs that enhances the quality of life throughout the western half of Canadian County in Oklahoma. We’re looking for a highly skilled executive director to help us fulfill this important undertaking. Reporting to the board of directors, the executive director will oversee the strategic and operational efficiencies of our programs. This individual will not only understand leading the organization and developing programs, but will also have experience in developing and implementing a successful fundraising plan. Experience in managing staff and volunteers is essential, and established relationships with local community groups is a plus. Above all, the executive director should be highly effective in communication, public relations, organization, reporting, and a strong desire to serve others.
Objectives of the Executive Director
· Work closely with board directors and committees to assess and address issues affecting Blessing Baskets and the community served
· Oversee daily operations of the organization, providing executive direction for program strategies and efficiencies, compliance, and quality assurance
· Identify and address staffing requirements for efficient operations, and maintain a positive culture while working with volunteers and clients while driving the organization’s mission
· Effectively lead staff and maintain a positive culture while maintaining effectiveness, productivity, and accountability
· Increase awareness of the organization through the coordination and collaboration with the Director of Community Relations
· Develop an actionable plan for fundraising
· Comply with all local, state, and national regulations
Responsibilities
· Be self-motivated and ability to look for opportunities to increase capacities and efficiencies and collaborate in setting organizational goals
· Execute business plan for achieving goals and objectives set in collaboration with the Blessing Baskets Board
· Meet aggressive annual fundraising goals, in partnership with board of directors, by securing financial support from foundations, corporations, individual donors, and government funding sources
· Work with staff and board on annual fundraising benefit and additional events, and oversee all external communications, including website, marketing collateral, newsletters, and social media
· Serve and participate in external events to increase visibility, credibility, and market brand, and develop strategic partnerships to further increase community awareness and expand programs
· Maintain confidentiality including client data and organizational records
· Coordinate and oversee programs and provide suggestions for improvement to the Board
· Display positive and professional attitude with the public at all times
· Ability to manage phone, face-to-face, text, and email communications when working with all stakeholders
· Authorize program expenditures to stay within budget limitations
· Purchase tangible items for distribution in programs
· Assist in pick up, delivery, and record-keeping of supplies, equipment, and distributions and maintain accurate and current inventory reports
· Maintain a safe working environment
· Build and lead an effective team that’s dedicated to fulfilling the organization’s mission through highly successful programs, community engagement, and fundraising
· Manage volunteers and clients whose experiences, cultures, and languages reflect the community served by the organization
· Provide monthly reports to board regarding programs
· Oversee the input of data and maintain reporting regarding LinkedtoFeed, clients, Regional Food Bank, donations to Blessing Baskets, and ongoing operations
· Will be responsible for maintaining office hours and opening/closing the Blessing Baskets building
· Must be able to inspire and align staff, volunteers, board, and clients toward common goals and the mission of Blessing Baskets
· Performs all other duties as assigned
Required skills and qualifications
· Three or more years of experience in management with nonprofit organizations
· Strong experience in public relations, marketing, and fundraising
· Knowledge of leadership and management principles for nonprofit organizations
· Proven success working with a board of directors
· Entrepreneurial mindset, with innovative approach to planning
· Dynamic and charismatic team player who enjoys being a public face of Blessing Baskets
· Strong organizational skills
· Strong technical skills including report writing, spreadsheets, and databases, including Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to adapt with technology changes
· Ability to prepare communications both internally and externally to the community, board, donors, and clients
· Building and maintaining relationship with stakeholders
Preferred skills and qualifications
· Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in business, human resources, or finance
· Experience in managing budgets
· Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills
· A successful background check will be required
· Bilingual in Spanish
Salary Range is $45,000 - $50,000 annual salary dependent on experience; Typical work day will be 8 hours per day, 4/days per week (32-35 hours per week); some evenings and weekends may be required depending on events and distribution schedule.
Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
