Food Runner busser
At El Portal Restaurant, we are looking for energetic, dependable, and team-oriented individuals to join our front-of-house team as a Food Runner / Busser. This position plays an important role in delivering excellent guest service and helping maintain a clean, organized, and efficient dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver food quickly and accurately from the kitchen to guests
- Assist servers by checking table needs and clearing plates
- Reset and clean tables promptly for incoming guests
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, restrooms, patios, and service stations
- Refill waters, chips, salsa, and other guest requests when needed
- Help stock supplies, polish silverware, and restock stations
- Support teamwork by assisting servers, hosts, bartenders, and kitchen staff
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times
- Wear non-slip shoes during all shifts
Qualifications
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift trays, bus tubs, and stand for long periods
- Weekend and holiday availability required
- Restaurant experience preferred, but not required
- Food Handler Certificate required
Schedule Requirements
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
- Must be available for busy holidays such as Cinco de Mayo and Mother’s Day
