Base pay for this position will be $55,913.20
The Sheriff’s Office provides public safety at all times and therefore every position is deemed essential. All positions are in-person and not eligible for remote work. Every position is also subject to recall based on the needs of the Office to keep the community safe.
This position has an anticipated work schedule of Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm, subject to change.
Greets, directs, and assists customers entering the Office of the Sheriff lobby; performs data entry, records maintenance, and other administrative duties in support of office operations.

Greets, directs, and assists customers entering the Office of the Sheriff lobby; performs data entry, records maintenance, and other administrative duties in support of office operations.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Provides customer service in the Office of the Sheriff to include providing assistance/direction to the public in person and over the phone as well as receiving and recording phone messages for Office personnel as needed.
- Performs opening and closing duties for the front lobby of the Office of the Sheriff.
- Distributes incoming mail to the proper recipient within the Sheriff's Office.
- Assists the Records section with data entry of State and County traffic citations requiring training on Law Enforcement Records Management System (LERMS), Beacon, and Colorado Revised Statutes (CRS).
- Assists the Records section in various projects to include scanning documents.
- Performs background checks for various agencies.
- Accepts Records Release requests and payments.
- Collects payments for County citations issued by the Sheriff’s Office, County Parks and Recreation, and the Pikes Peak Humane Society.
- Maintains control of and initiates case reports for property found in the lobby; packages property for transfer to the Evidence Unit.
- Assists the Concealed Handgun Permits office with various duties as needed.
- Assists other sections with special projects and/or requests as needed.
- Performs other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be honest and possess a high degree of personal integrity.
- Ability to type 40 words per minute (WPM) and enter data accurately.
- Ability to update and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with the general public, Sheriff's Office staff, and other law enforcement personnel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to use standard office equipment, including but not limited to, computer, typewriter, fax machine, and photocopier.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Minimum one year of administrative experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must obtain and maintain Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Compliance within six months of employment.
- Must pass conditional post offer background investigation, truth verification examination, drug screen, and typing test for speed and accuracy.
Duties are performed in a lobby setting with daily interaction with the public.
