Performs a wide variety of entry-level technical and operational resource management work in support of departmental operations. Assists with resource acquisition, inventory and asset administration, financial transaction processing, vendor coordination, operational systems, and related business support activities. Works under regular guidance while learning County policies, operational procedures, resource management practices, and departmental requirements.
This position may be part of the Resource Management Specialist progression series, which includes Associate Resource Management Specialist, Resource Management Specialist, and Senior Resource Management Specialist. An employee is eligible to advance to the next position within the series when the employee has met the criteria for advancement as notated within the job description and has received a recommendation from the Hiring Authority. Employment is subject to the terms, conditions, and policies detailed in the Personnel Policies Manual (PPM). This position requires regular in-person presence as an essential job function.
- Acquires, under direct oversight, materials, supplies, parts, equipment, and services needed to support departmental operations.
- Processes purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, receiving records, and related documentation.
- Obtains pricing information, quotes, product information, and vendor documentation.
- Performs, under direct oversight, accounts payable processes, including invoice review, purchase order matching, payment support, and record maintenance.
- Receives, stores, issues, transfers, and tracks inventory, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and operational resources.
- Performs inventory transactions, cycle counts, stock replenishment activities, inventory research, and record maintenance.
- Assists with maintaining inventory control systems, stockroom organization, storage locations, and material handling procedures.
- Assists with maintaining asset records, inventory records, operational databases, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinates movement and delivery of materials, supplies, equipment, and resources between facilities, vendors, and operational locations.
- Compiles, enters, verifies, and reconciles information from purchasing, inventory, financial, and operational systems.
- Performs, under direct oversight, the preparation of reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, and operational documentation. Provides customer service and operational support to County departments, vendors, and internal customers.
- Assists with audits, inventories, reconciliations, and operational reviews.
- Participates in emergency operations and response activities as assigned.
- As directed, assists with weather-related duties, such as snow removal.

- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- One year of experience in purchasing, contracting, procurement, materials management, inventory control, logistics, fleet parts operations, asset management, public works operations, or related resource management functions.
- Experience working in a government, public sector, public works, fleet, highway maintenance, construction, or similar operational environment.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must possess and maintain a Forklift Operation Certification or must obtain within six months of employment.
- Must obtain and maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and training as applicable to the position.
- Must pass conditional post offer background investigation, motor vehicle record check, drug screen, and physical examination.
