Base pay for this position will be $56,163.20


The Sheriff’s Office provides public safety at all times and therefore every position is deemed essential. All positions are in-person and not eligible for remote work. Every position is also subject to recall based on the needs of the Office to keep the community safe.


This position has an anticipated work schedule of:

Monday – Friday 6:30am – 2:30pm, 8:00am – 4:00pm, 1:50pm – 9:50pm, 4:00pm – 2:00am, 9:10pm - 7:10am, subject to change.
OR
Tuesday – Saturday 12:00pm – 8:00pm, subject to change.

Processes and maintains all administrative records concerning inmates in the detention facilities.

  • Maintains, updates files, and retrieves all inmate records for the detention facility.
  • Coordinates processing of inmate records with courts and other agencies by phone, teletype, or written correspondence including checking on bond status, mittimus and court documents, detainers, and scheduling prisoner transport.
  • Assists deputies in tracking and distributing inmate documents within the facility and to outside agencies.
  • Prepares and maintains records and reports on work release inmates, juvenile detainees, inmates' DOC status, and inmates detained by other law enforcement agencies.
  • Maintains list of authorized bondsmen.
  • Answers telephone, staffs the transaction window, collects funds, and answers general information questions.
  • Processes court paperwork of detainees, check for accuracy, and make changes as necessary.
  • Maintains court scheduling and vacation calendar.
  • Processes bond paperwork and monies.
  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Must possess the ability to use standard office equipment, including telephone, computer, Microsoft Office applications, fax machine, and copier.
  • Must possess ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality. 
  • Must be detail oriented and ensure accuracy in work.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Sets goals, manages time, effectively adapts to change and new information; effectively deals with pressure and ambiguity.
  • Skill in demonstrating a cooperative, professional attitude to cultivate relationships both within and outside the organization.
  • Ability to perform under stress and when confronted with persons acting under stress.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with co-workers, other County personnel, other agencies, and the public.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions; ability to prioritize tasks and to move between projects on short notice.
  • Ability to comprehend and accurately maintain a variety of detailed records and information.
  • Ability to perform accurate data entry and organize paperwork.
  • Ability to proofread others' work and correct any errors.
  • Must possess the ability to use standard office equipment, including telephone, computer, Microsoft Office applications, fax machine, and copier.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance. 

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Minimum two years clerical experience, preferably in the law enforcement or judicial field.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and work experience that satisfy the requirements of the job will be considered.

Licenses/Certificates:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must obtain and maintain Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Compliance within six months of employment. 

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Must pass conditional post offer background investigation, truth verification examination, motor vehicle record check, Tuberculosis testing, and drug screen.

Duties are performed in a highly stressful, closed environment with minimal exposure to windows. Potential exposure to violent inmates.  Sheriff’s Office employees must complete tuberculosis testing as applicable to the specific position prior to job assignment and periodic testing thereafter.

Salary : $56,163 - $57,702
