Position Summary
Performs a wide range of Diagnostic Imaging Services procedures on patients of varying ages, completes all associated tasks and responsibilities necessary to manage patient care needs while patient is in the Department for procedures. Serves as a Multi-Skilled Tech for labs performed in a Clinic setting. Performs special procedures as required in the medical laboratory which may include, but not limited to, Glucose monitoring, ISTAT, HCG, Strep & Covid testing, special chemistry and may include urinalysis. Processing reference laboratory specimens and performing computer tasks as needed. Conduct patient intake, vitals, documentation and discharge of Urgent Care patients. Assists in the development and monitoring of department specific systems and in the coordination of activities that improve the quality of patient care in Diagnostic Imaging Services.
Qualifications
Minimum Position Requirements
Work Experience:
- One (1) year of experience in Diagnostic Imaging in a hospital setting is preferred.
License/Registration/Certification:
- Texas certified Medical Radiological Technologist (MRT) through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
Education and Training:
- Graduate of an accredited radiological technologist program.
Skills:
Possesses critical thinking and critical thinking skills.
Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills.
Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist.
Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.
