Position Summary
The Registrar/Scheduler facilitates the patient flow at the clinic providing services necessary to schedule, registers, and greet patients.
Qualifications:Minimum Position Requirements
Work Experience:
- One year of office and/or customer service experience required with knowledge of basic office equipment and computer software programs. Healthcare or financial background preferred.
Education and Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Training or educational background with medical terminology and familiarity with ICD-10 coding preferred
License/ Registration/Certification:
- Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred.
Skills:
- Ability to deal tactfully with employees, patients, visitors and the general public.
- Basic computer literacy and keyboarding skills required.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills required. Proficient written and verbal English skills required.
- Some knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with ICD9 coding.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Knowledge of commercial and managed care payors and terminology.
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment with frequent interruptions.
- Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and works well under pressure.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
