Charge RN PICU, FT Days (58125)

Supervise and coordinate unit operations/activities on a specific shift to ensure quality patient care and optimal operational efficiency that ensures continuity of care. Maintain authority for resource allocation. Assist Nurse Manager and/or supervisor in the management of patient. Supervise the work of RNs, and non-licensed members of the nursing staff.

Work Experience

• One year of hospital based acute care experience.

License/Registration/Certification

• BLS and PALS
• Current RN License to practice in the State of Texas
• Obtains ARIN certification in practice specialty within 3 years.

Please Note: RN PRN candidates, whether internal or external candidates, must have certifications noted in the table below by department at the start of assignment/employment.

Certification by Unit:

*          For Emergency Dept. RNs, in addition to above, NRP is required within 12 months and STABLE within 18 months from Date of Hire.

Education and Training

• Associate Degree in Nursing required. Meets unit-specific education and/or certification requirements.

• Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills.
• Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.
