Position Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Providing attentive in-patient and out-patient care
- Assisting with diagnostics and laboratory procedures
- Administering medications and treatments accurately
- Monitoring anesthesia and assisting in surgery
- Assisting with dental procedures
- Maintaining accurate medical records
- Educating clients on medications and patient care
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the hospital
- Assisting with inventory and daily hospital operations
- Delivering excellent customer service and compassionate patient care
Our Mentor-Based Training Program
We believe in developing our team from within. Our structured five-phase training program pairs team members with experienced mentors who provide hands-on guidance and support throughout each phase of training.
Our goal is not only to teach skills, but to help team members build confidence, efficiency, and long-term success within veterinary medicine.
Schedule Expectations
This position follows a rotating schedule.
Week One:
- Three shifts: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- One shift: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- One shift: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Week Two:
- Four shifts: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- One shift: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- One Saturday shift: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Saturday shifts rotate among team members.
After completion of designated training phases, team members may also participate in occasional 2-hour technician support shifts on Saturday evenings, Sunday mornings, or Sunday evenings.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- 1 year veterinary assistant or technician experience
- Hands-on patient care experience
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Above all else a great energy, extremely coachable and the willinglness to learn.
