Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining presentation standards
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols are followed at all times
- Assist with bussing tables and maintaining cleanliness of dining areas
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently
- Engage with guests to foster positive guest relations and address any special requests or concerns
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and restaurant policies to provide informed recommendations
Skills
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality environments; fine dining
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable for order entry and payment processing
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales opportunities
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Effective communication skills for guest interactions and teamwork within the restaurant staff
- Experience with food preparation or kitchen operations is advantageous but not required
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights; previous host/host or serving experience is beneficial
