Location: Must live in one of the states listed on the job post (Mountain/West range). Preference to candidates in Denver, CO or the Bay Area, CA. Must also reside within 1 hour travel to an airport.

  • This position requires regular in-person coaching at partner sites, typically involving 3–5 consecutive days of on-site work per trip regionally or nationally, for an average of around 60% travel during work days throughout the year. In-person site visits are a core responsibility of this role and are not optional. When not traveling for site-based work, employees may complete responsibilities from a home office, as directed by their manager.

OPPORTUNITY

The Senior Coach, Partnerships works closely with the leadership team to ensure high-quality delivery of contracted services to partners to maximize impact. The Senior Coach, Partnerships works cross-functionally, collaborating with other members of the team, and other internal teams within EL Education (Research, Program, Product, Curriculum Design, etc.) to ensure a comprehensive and coherent approach to achieving impact goals. This person will design and facilitate high-quality professional development within partnerships and will support the Partnership Leadership Team in preparing partnership staff to do the same. The Senior Coach is responsible for maintaining a high level of expertise related to EL Education’s intellectual property, facilitation techniques and instructional model. This is a full-time position that reports to the Partnership Director.

Responsibilities

Develop Materials and Facilitate Professional Development (35%)

  • Support strategic planning and the development and execution of district partnership contracts and work plans
  • Develop and lead creative, interactive experiences that model the engagement and practices expected in EL Education classrooms, both face-to-face and virtual.
  • Organize and facilitate professional development with stakeholder groups (i.e. school leaders, district leaders, teachers).
  • Manage projects and/or grants specific to partnerships, including creating in-person and virtual content, developing resources, delegating work, tracking communications, overseeing delivery, and documenting outcomes

Coach School Leaders, Coaches and Teachers (25%)

  • Coordinate and manage professional learning and coaching schedules with school partners to maximize on-site time and fully support school leaders and teachers.
  • Provide thought-partnership and capacity building support to school leaders to ensure impactful professional learning and implementation of curriculum.
  • Building capacity in school-based coaches by coaching alongside them through calibration sessions, walkthroughs and feedback cycles, modeling lessons, and solving implementation dilemmas.
  • Plan and execute structures for successful adult learning: face-to-face professional development institutes in large group settings, virtual professional development (synchronous and asynchronous), and individual coaching sessions as needed.

Progress Monitoring and Support (20%)

  • Monitor progress through continuous improvement cycles grounded in EL Education’s 3 Dimensions of Student Achievement in schools by providing professional development and curriculum implementation tools
  • Ensure continuity in between on-site visits with follow up emails indicating next steps and proactive, frequent communication with school partners
  • Flexibly problem-solve issues related to professional learning and curriculum implementation at any given school/district site.
  • Partnering with building leaders and leadership teams to monitor and adjust strategy to achieve goals.
  • Manage and maintain data and results: service delivery, instructional impact, and partner program satisfaction.
  • Support, celebrate, and report on achievements of district / school goals and milestones.
  • Maintain accurate records: documenting direct service and planning within Salesforce, utilizing expense management system, etc.

Capacity Building and Mentorship (15%)

  • Liaise with EL’s internal team to understand the research, design and theory of EL Education’s instructional model.
  • Support, mentor, and empower partnership team staff to deliver services to partners and with partner schools and districts.
  • Support the creation and development of proposals and presentations (i.e responses to RFP’s, presenting at conferences, etc.) and similar resources as needed
  • Provide professional development and presentations to diverse audiences at the national level.

Be Crew (5%)

  • Collaborate with colleagues to solve problems of practice, create efficiencies, and commit to an organizational norm of continual improvement.
  • Partner with internal teammates and other stakeholders across the organization to support each others’ work and contribute to the broader success of EL Education
  • Model and represent the attitudes, practices and pedagogy of EL Education with partners and all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills And Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of K-12 public school classroom experience required; school leadership experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years experience at EL Education.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with Professional Development/Professional learning development
  • Minimum 2 years instructional coaching experience
  • K-8 literacy curriculum implementation experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with teaching or implementing EL Education ELA curriculum, EL Education Core Practices, Design Principles and 3 Dimensions of Student Achievement preferred
  • Master’s degree in education, educational leadership or related field preferred

Compensation And Benefits
