The District’s boundaries encompass 1,250 square miles, including a large portion of El Dorado County’s historic Gold Rush region. The area includes about 40 communities along the Highway 50 corridor, including the towns of Placerville, El Dorado Hills, Cameron Park, Shingle Springs, Diamond Springs, Camino, and Pollock Pines. Agriculture, tourism, and light industry are the area’s primary industries. The community is served by Los Rios Community College District, Sierra Community College District, Cosumnes River Community College, California State University, Sacramento, and U.C. Davis. The District serves 6,650 students in grades 9 through 12 and is comprised of four comprehensive high schools, a charter school, a Regional Occupational Program, and a continuation school. Job Summary

The successful candidate will possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities to: • Maintain and implement compliant IEP’s including, but not limited to, timeliness, procedures, and paperwork; • Plan and adapt instruction in order to integrate appropriate strategies to meet the learning needs of all students; • Use a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technologies to meet students’ diverse learning needs; • Maintain professional competence through participation in Professional Learning Communities, in-service education activities provided by the district, and/or in self-selected professional growth activities; • Evaluate students and complete reports, as necessary, in academic career/life skills and behavioral areas using formal and informal measures; • Develop individualized, measurable goals and objectives aligned with content standards and/or course outcomes based on individual student needs and assessment results; • Collaborate with and provide training to general education teachers and aides to support the academic success and IEP’s of special education students; • Routinely monitor the progress of special education students in general education classes and modify supports, as necessary; • Effectively communicate with all stakeholders.

Employees hired into an Education Specialist (Special Education) teaching position after February 1, 2025 will receive the following recruitment/retention bonuses: - $500.00 upon completion of the first semester. - $1,500.00 upon completion of the first year. - $2,000.00 upon completion of the second year. The employee must, at minimum, be enrolled in an Education Specialist credential program and obtain/possess an emergency Education Specialist Credential Authorization, in order to obtain the above payments. Employees are eligible for these payments regardless of the employment status (Temporary, Probationary 0, Probationary 1 or Probationary 2). A final payment of $3,000.00 will be paid to the employee once they become tenured with El Dorado Union High School District. Part-time employees will receive pro-rated payments based on FTE. Anticipated Site: Union Mine High School (Temporary FTE may be added to this position to accommodate caseload)
