The District’s boundaries encompass 1,250 square miles, including a large portion of El Dorado County’s historic Gold Rush region. The area includes about 40 communities along the Highway 50 corridor, including the towns of Placerville, El Dorado Hills, Cameron Park, Shingle Springs, Diamond Springs, Camino, and Pollock Pines. Agriculture, tourism, and light industry are the area’s primary industries. The community is served by Los Rios Community College District, Sierra Community College District, Cosumnes River Community College, California State University, Sacramento, and U.C. Davis. The District serves 6,650 students in grades 9 through 12 and is comprised of four comprehensive high schools, a charter school, a Regional Occupational Program, and a continuation school. Job Summary
The successful candidate will possess the skills, knowledge and abilities to: • Assist students in establishing appropriate educational and career goals by providing guidance and counseling services; • Work closely with staff, parents, and community resources in choosing curriculum; • Provide leadership for assigned departments and Professional Learning Communities; • Support students with dual enrollment registration (including application, CCAP and general catalog course registration); • Advise students on dual enrollment course selection to meet their long-term goals; • Provide information to students and parents on course requirements, vocational information, college and university entrance requirements and financial aid; • Assist in the orientation/onboarding process for new students (navigating Canvas, FLC accounts, etc.); • Facilitate communication to parents regarding student progress in dual enrollment courses; • Provide assistance in programming and scheduling; • Work with administration and classified staff to maintain student records and review transcripts, including checking for accuracy of college courses added to transcripts.
