QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Master’s Degree
- A valid certificate to practice as an Educational Examiner
- At least 3 years of teaching experience
- Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Special Education
JOB GOAL: To enable students to derive the fullest possible educational experience from
school by promoting their sense of self and providing for individual educational needs.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess referred students through appropriate testing and diagnostic practices.
- Administer tests, interpret results, and write reports as part of the referral and re-evaluation process.
- Identify all types of exceptional children.
- Conduct Special Education conferences and interpret test results and services to school personnel and parents.
- Research information on assessments, medical information, and medical equipment.
- Consult with school personnel and parents.
- Complete Due Process paperwork.
- Performs such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as the supervisor may from time to time assign.
