Role Description The Independent Travel Agent role is a full or part time, remote position responsible for managing end-to-end travel planning for individuals. Day-to-day tasks include consulting with clients to understand their travel needs, booking reservations for flights, hotels, car rentals, and tours, and creating detailed travel itineraries. The agent will handle changes and cancellations, provide timely customer service and support before and during trips, and coordinate travel arrangements that align with client budgets and preferences. The role also involves maintaining accurate records of bookings, leveraging sales opportunities, promoting travel packages, and staying current on travel industry trends, destination information, and supplier offerings. Collaboration with travel partners and use of booking platforms and CRM tools are essential parts of daily work.
Client Development & Sales Responsibilities
* Build and grow your own client base by actively marketing your services and generating new business.
* Leverage your personal network, including friends, family, referrals, social media, community involvement, and other marketing efforts to develop clientele.
* Maintain and expand your own customer database through networking, relationship building, and prospecting.
* Book and manage your own travel clients from initial consultation through completion of their travel plans.
* Provide exceptional customer service to foster repeat business and referrals.
* This is a commission-split independent contractor position. Compensation is based on the travel sales you personally generate and book.
Qualifications
- Ability to manage and book comprehensive travel arrangements, including reservations for flights, accommodations, and car rentals.
