We are seeking a Special Events Coordinator to be a part of the El Dorado Hills Community Services District which is recognized as the premier park, recreation, and local community services organization with a passion for providing excellent services and facilities and protecting the quality of life and environment of the community.

The Special Events Coordinator will have responsibility for coordinating, planning, and organizing the District hosted special events such as concerts, park parties, and Summer Fest.
Duties
This position will also compile lists of potential sponsors for events and contact potential sponsors to solicit monies and participation. Additionally, the Special Events Coordinator will work with the sponsors to coordinate promotions during events. An example of duties are:
Qualifications
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. Atypical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade, supplemented by 60 units of college level coursework in recreation, early education, liberal studies, physical education or a related field.
AND
Two (2) years of recreation program or special event operational support experience.
Licenses And Certifications
This position will work up to 20 hours per week and the schedule is flexible. The majority of special events take place in the evenings and weekends therefore, availability to work evenings and weekends is required.

- With direction from the Recreation Superintendent and appropriate Supervisors, performs event pre-planning, coordinating, and day-of implementation of special events.
- Performs analysis/evaluation of current special events to ensure the District is achieving the desired outcome in terms of community engagement and cost/benefit in the use of District funds.
- Communicates with special event vendors and entertainment providers to plan and secure their services and coordinate event logistics.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with event supporters to procure event sponsorship funds from various businesses, corporations, and foundations.
- Prepares internal event reports including budget summary and sponsor recognition. Prepares correspondence to send to vendors and sponsors such as thank-you letters, event surveys, and external event summary.
- Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications

- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid class C California driver's license.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within 45 days of starting work.
