JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacy Technician supports the delivery of pharmaceutical care by assisting the pharmacist with medication preparation, processing, inventory management, and ensuring adherence to pharmacy regulations and safety standards. The Pharmacy Technician contributes to a high-functioning pharmacy operation by maintaining accurate prescription records, organizing medications, and assisting patients in a courteous, professional manner.

To qualify for this position, an individual must possess any combination equivalent to sufficient experience and/or education that would likely produce the required knowledge, skill, and ability requirements listed above. A typical way to acquire the required qualifications would be:
Physical Requirements:
Normal health center/interior office/community environment. See, hear, talk, walk, sit and/or stand for long periods of time, reach, stoop, bend, lift up to 25 lb., transfer clients of any weight; repetitive hand movement; use and view a computer, operate fax, copier, telephone; read and write English.
Transportation
Must possess a valid California driver’s license, have reliable transportation, a clean driving record and insurance as required by the state.
Work Hours
Monday- Friday, hours subject to change based on Center need. Must be available to attend off-hour meetings, events, including evenings, and weekends.

Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Assists pharmacists in preparing and delivering prescription medication.
- Profiles prescriptions, prepare labels, calculate quantities, and organizes medications for pharmacist verification and dispensing.
- Delivers medications to patients and assists in ensuring medication availability by managing inventory and orders.
- Complies with all pharmacy laws, rules, and regulations to ensure a safe and clean pharmacy environment.
- Maintains professional relationships with pharmacy staff, providers, and patients.
- Performs immunization support tasks as directed.
- Supports 340B program best practices and ensures compliance with program requirements.
- Follows organizational procedures for documentation retention and privacy.
- Ensures accurate record-keeping in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Ensures adherence to organizational procedures and policies.
- Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to ensure an injury-free work environment.
- Use appropriate ergonomic measures to reduce risk of work-related injuries.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience

- A Minimum two (2) years of experience in a retail or outpatient pharmacy preferred.
- Experience with 340B program operations preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid Pharmacy Technician registration with the California State Board of Pharmacy.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification preferred.
- Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
