What You Will Do
- Ensure quality patient care by acknowledging, adhering to, and implementing overall organizational and pharmacy policies of El Centro Family Health.
- Provide a high level of customer service to patients and staff of El Centro Family Health.
- Order the clinic drug supplies.
- Prepare medication for dispensing from clinic drug room.
- Serve as pharmacy resource support for satellite clinics staff.
- Direct medication refill requests electronically for provider authorization.
- Perform annual drug inventory.
- Remove expired medication from stock and processes returns.
- Manage and maintain Patient Assistant Program Services.
- Assist Pharmacist with other projects as requested.
- Contribute to team effort by assisting other departments when requested by supervisor.
- Perform all duties consistent with Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) and Meaningful Use (MU) Team guidelines, assignment, and training; evidence-based guidelines in clinical practice and population management activities utilizing certified EHR systems.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years in pharmacy or medical setting.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain certification within 3 months of hire.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Intermediate knowledge/expertise with PC hardware and software (Word and Excel).
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician.
- Bilingual- Spanish/English.
- Ability to balance, bend, lift, carry, and pull up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods, typically longer than four hours.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, or as needed.
- Manual dexterity and ability to use hands and fingers for feeling, grasping, and operating office equipment.
- Adequate hearing ability for communication and monitoring office environments.
- Good vision for reading documents, operating office equipment, and observing surroundings.
- Capability to stoop, crouch, crawl, or kneel as necessary for office tasks.
- Ability to talk clearly and effectively for communication.
- Ability to walk and move around the office environment.
- This position involves possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious materials.
