Remote Litigation Attorney

Job Description

We are seeking a Remote Litigation Attorney in South Carolina to join a growing nationwide law firm. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with experienced leadership while representing policyholders in complex first-party property insurance disputes.

The ideal candidate will have experience handling insurance coverage matters, property claims, and insurance litigation, with the ability to independently manage cases and advocate effectively on behalf of clients.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in first-party property insurance disputes involving residential, commercial, and casualty-related claims.
• Evaluate insurance claims, coverage issues, and policy language to develop case strategy and maximize client recovery.
• Analyze insurance policies and provide coverage opinions regarding liability, exclusions, and policy interpretation.
• Manage cases through all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, mediation, arbitration, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
• Draft legal briefs, motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and other litigation-related documents.
• Conduct legal research regarding insurance laws, regulations, and evolving case law.
• Appear at hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
• Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients in coverage and claim disputes.
• Collaborate with adjusters, experts, consultants, and other professionals to develop and execute litigation strategies.
• Advise clients on claim handling, risk mitigation, and insurance-related legal matters.
• Stay current on federal, state, and local laws impacting insurance claims and coverage disputes.

Qualifications

• J.D. required.
• Active South Carolina Bar admission required.
• 2 years of experience handling property insurance claims, insurance coverage matters, or insurance litigation.
• Experience taking depositions, attending hearings, and managing litigation matters.
