EKN Engineering is fast-growing civil engineering and technology consulting company located in Irvine, CA. In order to hit our growth goals, we are now hiring an entry level drafter to join our engineering team. In addition to the drafting duties, you'll also be responsible for keeping company records up to date for progress on your assigned workload. Requires understanding of basic AutoCAD drafting of plan views, redline processing, good written and oral communications skills, and a proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Products. The ideal candidate will have the ability to multi-task, work cross-functionally and globally

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing CAD drafting support services
• Performs skilled drafting work in preparing preliminary and final engineering drawings, plans, maps and exhibits
• Transforms initial rough product designs using CAD software into working documents. Reviews engineering drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
• Must become proficient with company CAD organizational systems and standards
• Produces finished drawings from preliminary design sketches and instruction provided by design staff
• Addresses plan check comments including basic plan view level comments, editing text, editing attributes, etc
• Uses existing information to prepare composite exhibits and plans
• Performs other miscellaneous duties as required such as research and construction document scans and copies

Requirements

• 1 years of professional AutoCAD experience is preferred but not required
• Education and training equivalent to a high school education plus two years of technical or trade school training; preferred course work includes engineering, mechanical drafting, AutoCAD, algebra, geometry, trigonometry and surveying
• Work experience as a Drafter or similar role is a plus
• Preparation of drawings to company and / or client standards

EKN Engineering has become aware of a phishing scheme targeting individuals with fraudulent interview requests and job offers. EKN’s secure IT systems and private applicant information have not been compromised; scammers are impersonating EKN employees, using the company name and branding to mislead and engage potential job seekers in fake recruitment processes. Scammers might reference real job openings or describe fake opportunities that generally match individuals’ professional backgrounds, with the goal of establishing communication and eventually obtaining private financial information to defraud people.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Federal Trade Commission warn that employment scams such as this are a growing cyber threat. EKN urges anyone who is contacted about employment opportunities to exercise caution and know that:

· All communication from EKN Engineering will be from an EKN employee using the @eknengineering.com email domain. We do not use third-party recruiters.

· EKN Engineering recruiters will only schedule interviews for candidates who have applied for a position through our secure portal.

· No corporate or IT systems at EKN are affected by this scam. The scammers are using EKN’s logo and employee names to impersonate the company.
