Project Manager (Hybrid Part-time)

Introduction:

The Project Manager will provide project management oversight for the design, configuration, staff training, and implementation of VBOA’s replacement licensing and management system. They will also provide internal support for the steps required by the Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA).

Responsibilities:

• Lead team members through process mapping and requirements gathering.
• Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for the project and oversee various system implementation phases and processes.
• Oversee acceptable user acceptance testing and certify that the solution is ready for deployment.
• Ensure the solution is fully implemented as planned.
• Responsible for change management, overall vendor management, and project closeout.

Requirements:

Required skills:

• Strong management and leadership skills.
• Ability to set and maintain adherence to project goals with internal team and IT vendor.
• Maintain project timeframes, budgeting estimates, and status reports for executive management and the board.
• Coordinate project team members and develop and track schedules and individual responsibilities.
• Implement IT strategies that deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through the Project Management Institute (PMI).
• Demonstrated experience in effective team building and communication skills.

Preferred skills:

• Knowledge and experience in successfully executing Software as a Service (SaaS) or Platform as a Service (PaaS) implementation.
• Strong vendor management skills.
• Experience assisting Commonwealth of Virginia agencies in planning, developing, and validating functional and technical requirements to support the implementation of IT solutions.
• Knowledge of current Commonwealth of Virginia policies, standards, procedures, and practices, particularly those related to VITA.
