Biodiversity Intern (Unpaid Internship)
1. Field Surveys & Data Collection
• Assist in biodiversity (flora and fauna), habitat, and ecological field surveys under the guidance of senior team members.
• Support collection, validation, and organization of field and secondary data using standard methodologies.
• Help coordinate field activities, logistics, and stakeholder interactions during surveys.
2. Data Analysis & Documentation
• Assist in compiling, analysing, and interpreting ecological and biodiversity data.
• Support preparation of technical reports, presentations, maps, and project documentation.
• Maintain project records, databases, and survey documentation.
3. Project Support & Coordination
• Provide support in the execution of biodiversity and environmental projects.
• Coordinate with project teams, consultants, and stakeholders for project-related activities.
• Assist in tracking project progress and ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.
4. Research & Technical Support
• Conduct literature reviews and research on biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals, technical documents, and project reports.
• Stay updated on emerging practices, policies, and tools related to biodiversity conservation and nature-based solutions.
Internship Details
• Duration: 2-3Months
• Location: Indore
• Stipend: Unpaid Internship
• Certificate of Completion will be provided upon successful completion of the internship.
Requirements
Educational Qualification
Essential
• Bachelor's or Master's degree (completed or pursuing final year) in Botany, Zoology, Wildlife Science, Forestry, Environmental Science/Management, Ecology, Life Sciences, or allied disciplines.
• Basic knowledge of MS Excel and data management.
• Basic understanding of biodiversity, ecology, environmental sustainability, and conservation principles.
• Familiarity with GIS tools such as QGIS or ArcGIS.
• Strong interest in biodiversity conservation, ecological assessments, and environmental projects.
Preferred
• Academic projects, internships, fieldwork, or research experience related to biodiversity, ecology, forestry, wildlife, or environmental management.
• Basic knowledge of GIS (QGIS/ArcGIS), R Studio, or statistical analysis tools.
• Good report writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel and participate in field surveys and project activities.
Desired Competencies
• Understanding of biodiversity assessment and environmental sustainability concepts.
• Familiarity with biodiversity-related frameworks and tools such as CBD, ENCORE, IBAT, Biodiversity Risk Filter (BRF), No Net Loss (NNL), Biodiversity Impact & Risk Screening (BIRS), CDP, and TNFD.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute to biodiversity conservation initiatives.
• Ability to work effectively in both field and office environments.
