Overview
A tree company foreman is responsible for leading a crew in all aspects of tree care, including pruning, removals, cabling, and stump grinding on residential, commercial, and municipal properties. They plan and organize daily job tasks, allocate resources, and delegate responsibilities to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely. Foremen ensure compliance with company and industry standards. They ensure proper use and care of vehicles and equipment. They also train and motivate junior crew members, monitor performance, and maintain client satisfaction through professional service. This role is the direct link between the crew and the owner. Hourly pay is subject to experience, and qualifications. This position includes a probationary period of thirty (30) calendar days, during which performance and suitability for the role will be evaluated. You need to report to our shop in Elizabethtown every morning Monday-Friday by 7:30AM.
Duties
- Assign daily tasks to meet company financial goals and job timelines
- Supervising the crew on each job
- Ensure job sites are left clean and to company standards
- Identifying and addressing crew training needs.
- Maintaining tools and equipment, ensuring they are safe and functional.
- Providing excellent customer service and maintaining professional relationships with clients.
- Auditing time sheets and job documentation for accuracy.
- Maintain consistent and verbal communication with owner regarding:
- o Daily job progress and completion status
- o Crew performance and any staffing concerns
- o Equipment issues or maintenance
- o Jobsite challenges, delays, additions, or unexpected conditions
- o Relay customer concerns or feedback
Qualifications
- 5 Years of experience in the tree service industry is required
- Supervisor experience preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of arboriculture practices including tree identification, pruning techniques, roping techniques, knots, and tree care.
- Experience operating tree service equipment such as chainsaws, skid loaders, chippers, bucket trucks or other tree service machinery.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate company vehicles safely; experience operating a company vehicle is preferred.
- Physically capable of performing demanding manual labor tasks.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate crew members and coordinate multiple projects efficiently.
- Knowledge of tree service standards and best practices.
Pay: $30.00 - $36.50 per hour
