ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reads blueprint and job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, band speed, clamping pressure, and special instructions.
- Positions and secures workpiece in saw vises.
- Maintains direct flow of coolant against saw blade and work piece.
- Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined workpiece to specifications.
- Sets up and operates saw.
- Issues raw materials to jobs and maintains accurate inventory and location of raw materials.
- Inspects parts using precision measuring equipment and documents inspection data.
- Performs periodic preventative maintenance to assigned machines and notifies supervisor or manager of any problems with assigned machines.
- Loads, unloads, and moves materials within the CNC Department when needed.
- Cleans and organizes work area.
